Bytel is in the privileged position of owning and maintaining its own Fibre Backbone Network, which extends around Northern Ireland and down into Dublin.

There has been significant time and money invested in creating and installing our network, the Northern Ireland Saturn Ring (NISR), with over 400km of fibre linking Northern Ireland's capital city Belfast, with towns and rural areas around the whole of the province, including points of presence in Portadown, Derry, Omagh and Armagh.

Bytel is at the forefront of technological development and network supply within Northern Ireland, as the province's leading 'Open Access- Carrier Neutral' provider. We are committed as a company to operating in an environment which participates in and encourages healthy competition between Communications Providers (CPs) within the UK and Ireland.

The 'Open Access' fibre ring around Northern Ireland is a symbol of Bytel's carrier neutral approach, with the goal of bringing high capacity network services and connectivity across the province. Bytel is the first company to employ such a network, and we are open in our approach to working with other carriers for the benefit or NI business customers as a whole.
